Prasad Muddam

I am an Industrial Designer from the prestigious MIT Institute of Design, Pune, India. I have previously worked with various big Companies of the medical device industry for over a decade designing and developing biomedical products and medical devices. During this period, I have developed several medical devices right from idea and concept stage to marketable products and many of the devices I designed are still being used in the market. I, thus have 12+ years of experience in developing medical devices. My expertise lies in successfully conceptualizing, designing, developing, and prototyping products. I am experienced of developing biomedical products and medical devices from defining sketch forms and creating illustrations to designing product graphics, mockups, development to regulatory clearance. After having worked with companies , I joined the bio design fellowship at CfHE, IIT Hyderabad and started my own medical device company in Hyderabad, India.

Having started a medical device company in 2018, I have been working as the founder, CEO and Chief Industrial Designer at Heamac. As the founder of Heamac, I have been entitled with many responsibilities including tailoring the mission and vision of the company along with the strategies to be implemented, proposed plan to expand and grow the business. Heading the company, I lead my team towards achieving company’s goals and I am accountable for the team’s performances, expense, revenue, handling manpower and running the startup with efficient resources. I have been successfully running a startup by developing our product right from idea to a product. During this period, I with my team have raised funds from Institutes and government organizations supporting startups. With the funds we received we have developed a Proof of Concept (PoC), Working Prototype and Minimum Viable Product.
